A Video Tour of our Museum Rooms

DNR ROOM

This video begins with a photo of the Grayling Fish Hatchery which was created in 1914. Winter Sports Park memorabilia are displayed in the first showcase. The upright showcase holds different species of fish that were plentiful in the Au Sable River, including the grayling.

Photos of Reuben Babbitt, Jr. hang on the walls. He was the first conservation officer in northern Michigan and a famous river guide and historian.

Also shown is the original weathervane of the Hatchery. Of course, the fish is a grayling.
